Our Fall Sailing Orientation Session (SOS) is scheduled for November 16 at Quiet Waters Park.
Registration is now open on the website. This event is free for members, $20 for guests.
IMPROVE YOUR SAILING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS- Recommended for all new members!
Event Details:
Date: November 16, 2024
Venue: Quiet Waters Park - Pavilion Jacaranda, 401 S. Powerline Rd., Deerfield Bch, FL 33442. 954-357-5100.
Entrance Fee to Park: $3/vehicle (for 8 or fewer people).
Free for those who walk or ride a bicycle into the park.
Registration: Begins at 9:30 AM
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Conclusion of Sessions (SOS): By 3:00 PM
Happy Hour: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Muddy Waters Restaurant & Bar located at 2237 W. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. Discounted Drink & Food prices are available. This Restaurant & Bar is 10 minutes from Quiet Waters. Members would have to drive there.
Members and Instructors are requested to wear their SSSF Badges.
Our knowledgeable instructors ensure a fun, hands-on learning experience, providing a great opportunity to enhance your sailing skills and become a valuable crew member.

9:30 AM - Registration
10:00 - 10:45 AM - Etiquette Session
10:45 - 11:15 AM - Boat Safety
11:15 AM - 12:00 PM - Captain's View & ICW Navigation
12:00 - 12:30 PM - Lunch Break
12:30- 1:30 PM - Lines & Knots
1:30 - 2:15 PM - Boat Systems Overview
2:15 - 3:00 PM - VHF Radio Operations
Each session will consist of 45 minutes: 30 minutes dedicated to presentations and 15 minutes for Q&A, ensuring an interactive and informative experience for all participants.
Following the conclusion of the sessions, there will be a Happy Hour at Muddy Waters Restaurant & Bar, providing an excellent opportunity for networking and relaxation.
We will provide a standard Publix lunch including salads and cold cuts, etc.. If you have any special dietary requirements, you are on your own.
