Speed Trials--See Whose Boat is the Fastest on Straight Runs

We've all spent so a lot of time course racing, but we've never done speed trials with straight runs.  Join me on Biscayne Bay for an afternoon, or two, of smooth water and heavy winds (don't worry, I've had the conversation with Mother Nature, she'll be there with at least 15-20).  Here's what we'll be doing.  

First, we are going to stay at the Pelican Harbor Marina which is about 20 minutes north from Biscayne Bay on the Intracoastal.  They have electric, nice showers, food and ice, not too far from the marina so, we can party on the dock, OR there's a picnic area about 100' from the dock.  Pelican Harbor also has a marina store and fuel dock.  It's not a bad commute from Pelican to the Harbor...plus its a very nice view of the buildings.

If you are further away than 35 miles from Pelican, you can be reimbursed by the club for one nite.  Slips rates are not expensive, somewhere around $50...will confirm and see what kind of deal we can get.  

There will be a CASH award as a Fleet Captain's Prize for the fastest boat.  

There will be an award for a boat that manages to keep its gun rail in the water for a minimum of 5 minutes.

There will be an award for best food dish shared at the picnic (voted by all who attend).

There will be an award for the most exotic cocktail shared at the picnic (voted by all who attend).
